 Gameplay Example

Please check the manual for a comprehensive list of gameplay examples.

Each location offers the player a series of default options: movement, interaction with the environment, characters, or objects.

Additionally, the player can interact with the entities offered by the location and the objects they possess through the “REDM Panel”.

This panel offers a series of verbs that apply to the entities of the scenario indicated in magenta: “Painting – Door – Shelf – Floor”, that is, from the current context.

For example, actions such as the following may be possible:

- “Examine  Picture”

- “Push door”

- “Search shelf”

- “Take painting”

We select “Examine” - the entities we can interact with will appear.

Next, we choose "Painting".

System

The version you have in your hands is exclusive to ZX Spectrum +3 in a disc format - a 128/48k version is coming soon!

You can play it in many ways:

- The original machine. Note that the file provided is an image of the disk (".dsk"),  intended for emulation, even if it is an actual machine, like the Next, the N-Go, etc ... if you want to run it in a 3' inches disk, you need to convert it. If you own an original ZX Spectrum +3, I recommend getting an internal or external GOTEK unit, though.

- On the Spectrum Next, N-GO, clones, and any hardware that runs the +3 core (does not work on “The Spectrum”, though)

- Emulators like Zesarux, Retro Virtual Machine, Speccy, etc...

A good option is to emulate the game on your mobile phone, for instance, using the "Speccy" emulator. The on-screen interface is enough to play the whole game, and you can get it running in less than 5 minutes.

Demo

The demo/prototype version contains around 90% of the N.O Episode game; because of the size of the original script, I have converted it to an episode kind of game, which also fits better with the Spectrum ecosystem. Even though we are almost in 2025, the primary format seems to be the classic 128/48k for most people, so I'm making changes to allow the game to run well on all platforms, reducing the graphic ambience. So, expect the game's final version to be very different but similar simultaneously.

The full and vastly improved version will be available in April, so the demo has been discontinued for the time being.

Cool game!

Thanks! Send me any feedback you may have :)
